In my research, I am driven by the previous quilter. I want to know about the quilt makers process, what took place before the quilt was a quilt, and ... The research is all about knowing the past during the present.
"Kathy is widely recognized as an expert of New England quilts and textiles. She has done extensive research on panel or “cut and sew” dolls printed in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Many of these were printed by Arnold Print Works and have a unique place in our textile history." - Quiltmania
My research focus has been primarily on these panels, also called Playthings by the Yard, printed in the New England area and the contribution they have made to Arnold Print Works and the textile industry.
